Many people think that at first. We believe the logo ties in with the name quite well. Yet, it's not a snowflake. Our logo is inspired from Hawaiian quilt design and takes the form of coffee leaves and cherries.
When missionaries came to the islands in the early 1800s, Hawaiian women were introduced to the Western art of quilting. It caught on quickly and soon Hawaiians were creating their own styles of quilting taking a lot of their inspiration from flowers and trees.
Although quilting was a rushed project for westerners, Hawaiians had no cold seasons to have to get quilts completed quickly for their families. Quilting became a very meticulous art for Hawaiians and a quilt would take months to complete.
Today, Hawaiian quilts are made with the same care as when it was first introduced and are considered family heirlooms. Our logo is an extension of our appreciation for Hawai'i and its culture. It represents our commitment in providing the best quality Kona coffees for you, your friends and your 'ohana.
A hui hou! Malama pono.
